International launch in Argentina

On the 16th of December 2010 an event titled “International Launch” of the Regional Geographic Conference (UGI 2011) was held in the Auditorium of the Cultural Center of the Chilean Embassy in Argentina, in the city of Buenos Aires. On this occasion Mr. Pedro Mahuzier García, Coordinator of the LOC for UGI 2011 and advisor to the IGM Geographic Secretariat, together with LOC Executive Secretary, Rodrigo Garcia G., presented to the Argentine scientific community the features and scope of the conference with the aim of attracting potential speakers, attendees, sponsors and participants in the trade exhibition.

Moreover, the representatives of the LOC for UGI 2011 took this opportunity to meet the Director of the National Geographic Institute of Argentina, Lic. Liliana Weisert, also the President of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), Dr. Marta Graciela Rovira. These meeting demonstrate the enormous interest of the international scientific community in participating in the conference, as a result of the professionally executed efforts of the IGM in the sharing and distribution of knowledge throughout Latin America and the world.
